Nilanjan is a medical laboratory technologist and a counsellor practicing narrative therapy. He runs his own pathological lab in Kolkata which provides queer affirmative diagnostic and paramedical services to queer and trans individuals. He is the father of two teenage boys, the elder one Shyam, 19 years is transmasculine.
