Namrata Edwards
Namrata is a development sector professional with 11+ years of experience working with and for children and communities. Namrata is a social worker with a postgraduate degree from College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai India and an Honors graduate degree in Sociology from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai India.
Her interests have been working with and for children and women. She has worked as a research officer with an organization that specialised in qualitative research and capacity building in strategic management of not-for-profits. Presently, she works as a senior project manager and trainer in the space of early childhood development and disabilities. She works with community-based organisations across India and enjoys being able to travel and learn from community workers.
Namrata’s life and work are informed by ideas of social work, feminism, narrative practises, disability justice. ‘Unapologetically questioning’ is one of the ways Namrata choses to describe herself. She enjoys reading, knitting, music, good food and wandering. She finds inspiration in the memories of her loved ones, the ocean, trees, and cats. Her ultimate life goal is to ‘nap like a cat’.
